About the Institute
"Government Industrial Training Institute Bhaddu/Billawar (ITI) was established in the year 1985 by the Technical Education Department, Government of Jammu and Kashmir under the overall aegis of Directorate General Employment and Training (DGE&T), Ministry of labour and Employment, Government of India New Delhi. This Institute is situated at Village Bhaddu, a prominent town of Tehsil Billawar , once the seat of Imperial power on Bhinni naalah (a tributary of Ujh river) .

The Institute is 3 km west from Phinter chowk and 10 km short from Billawar Tehsil Headquarters. Govt.ITI Bhaddu/Billawar is among the 53 Govt. ITIs presently existing in the State of Jammu and Kashmir.The ITI has covered 10 kanals of land and about 10165sft constructed area.This Institute started with the two trades i.e. Electrician and Stenography . In the mean time two more trades namely Welder and Mechanic Radio/TV were sanctioned in 1987 by the Government taking the total strength of trades to four. With the addition of three more SCVT trades, presently the Institute is running successfully with Seven trades.

The Institute is also running 2nd shift in three trades under Self Finance Scheme .The Institute is now covered under the scheme Up gradation of 1396 ITIs under Public Private Partnership mode” with the up gradation and introduction of new trades. Moreover short term courses under Skill Development Initiative (SDI) scheme and Skill Development for the 8000 youths of Jammu and Kashmir (SDYJK-8000 Scheme), Inside/outside the state are also running successfully in this Institute. The trainees after successfully passing the All India Trade Test (AITT) in NCVT trades are issued NCVT Certificates by the Ministery of labour & Emloyment ,Govt. of India While Candidates successfully passing the State Trade Test in SCVT Trades are issued SCVT Certificates by the Directorate of Technical Education Jammu & Kashmir.

The Trainees who complete the short term courses are issued the National Proficiency Certificates by NCVT valid nationally as well as internationally . Up to 2011 the no.of Pass outs in respect of ITI Bhaddu/Billwar stands at 551 NCVT and 372SCVT . The maximum pass outs have been working in Govt. as well as Private sector besides some have started their own establishments.The institute involved not only in training activities but also performing successful activities such as motivation campaign, entrepreneurship campaign, campus interview, and cultural activities as well as sports activities.

ITI Bhaddu/Billawar under the aegis of Directorate of Technical Education Jammu and Kashmir has been progressing day by day and today it has become a well established Technical Institution for imparting skill Development Training in various fields like Electrical, Construction, Welding ,Computer etc. In the era of Globalization and Industrialization ,The Students can acquire the latest as well as advanced training in above fields by the well trained & experienced staff and prosper in these sectors by getting well paid jobs in country & abroad thus fulfilling the demand of today’s generation as well of the people of area.

Therefore I advise all the young generation as well as their parents to get full benefit of Schemes in your ITI so as to transformer them from unskilled one to skilled one by taking admission in different sectors/fields. ITI Bhaddu/Billawar is only the Institute in this area where the Hidden technical talent of today’s young generation is really explored to make them the true tomorrow’s citizens of India.
